Benfica are doing a very bad season compared to the last season with the coach Roger Schmidt where they beated so many records in terms of domestic league and Champions League where they qualified in 1st position in a group with Juventus and PSG, but since the midfielder Enzo Fernandez left to join Chelsea they started to play really bad. And this season they started terribly aswell in terms of football quality, they are really missing the striker Goncalo Ramos and the left-back Grimaldo. The players seem to be against the coach and want him to leave due to a very bad decision he had against the ex-goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos where the coach said publicly that the defeat against Boavista was due to his fault, all of this because he wanted to start putting the new goalkeeper Trubin and after this they started the bad exhibitions. This game is extremely important for them, but they come from a terrible game against Real Sociedad where they lost 3-1, but in the 1st half at the minute 20 it was already 3-0 and Real Sociedad had 2 disallowed goals and missed a penalty. Roger Schmidt decided in the last games to change the system from his known 4-2-3-1 to a 3-4-3 but they did already 3 games in this formation (won against Arouca 2-0, then also 2-0 against Chaves and lost 3-1 against Sociedad) and Benfica played really bad in those 3 matches and the main problem is that they will face Sporting that play in the same system since the coach Ruben Amorim arrived (5 seasons almost already). Can't see Benfica beating Sporting that are very confident.

Sporting CP are doing an amazing season and prepared really well this season by buying one of the best strikers that I remember to see playing in Portugal - Viktor Gyokeres that was playing in Coventry last season. Sporting had 2 less days of rest than Benfica, but the coach rotated many players against Rakow and Rakow played with 10 men since the minute 10 and it allowed Sporting to put a really low pace in the game already thinking on the next match against Benfica. Sporting are leading the league with more 3 points than Benfica and if they win they can create a big gap to them. Sporting are really confident, playing the best football right now. In the last game for the league Sporting was losing 2-1 in the 2nd half against Estrela, but then the amazing winger Marcus Edwards did a "maradona" solo goal that gave the 2-2 and then he assisted Paulinho for the 3-2.

Probable line-up: Adan; Ricardo Esgaio - Diomande - Coates - Goncalo Inacio - Nuno Santos; Hjulmand - Daniel Braganca; Edwards - Pedro Goncalves and Gyokeres.
