Benfica is sitting in 2nd place, 3 points behind this Sporting team so they have here a really great chance to get the lead back with a win but I have doubts about it because this Benfica team ain't the same team from last season, they are playing awful in the Champions League against good team who like to have the control of the ball and who put pressure on them and in the Portuguese League they have been able to survive some bad games because they face poor competition almost all the time but even in their last home game they got only a 1:1 draw against Casa Pia and this Sporting team will be a much tougher opponent who can really hurt Benfica like they did last season in this stadium where the game ended in a 2:2 draw but Sporting was the better team.

For this game Benfica is without Neres, Bah and Kokcu.

Sporting started the season with 9 wins and 1 draw in the league and are the leader and if they manage to win here they would have a very good 6 point advantage over Benfica but first things first, lets talk about this team. This is a derby so everything is possible, sometimes we get big surprises but I don't see how Sporting is the underdog here because Sporting is everything that Benfica doesn't like to face and last season this two teams had 2 big battles, both 2:2 draws but Sporting was overall the better team and this season Sporting is way better than last season and Benfica is worst, they lost key players from last season that are heavily missed this season, especially Grimaldo and Ramos and Sporting got some new players who elevated this team to another level. Like I said, in derby's everything is possible but for me Sporting ain't the underdog here, I see good chances for them even win this game here but most likely it will end in a draw but I really like Sporting not to lose here, so take Sporting to win or draw in this game.
