Round of 16 of Landspokal Cup will see Midtjylland go on the road to face Viborg looking to earn a place within the best eight teams of the competition. This will be the second game for Midtjylland in the competition. In the round of 32, the team played in amazing level to beat FA 2000, from Third Division, by 6-0. Now the bar is higher, as they will play another squad from the Super Liga, but they can draw confidence from recent head to heads, as they have not lost in their last six clashes, with four draws and two wins.

The best of Midtjylland so far in the season can be seen in their European campaign. In UEFA Europa League, they ended up in the second spot of Group F and qualified for the round of 32, leaving teams like Lazio, from Italy, behind them. In the local league, they are currently mid table, figthing to place themselves amongst the Championship Group spots.

On the other hand, it will be the third game for Viborg, as they started their way in the round 64 with a solid 7-0 win over Viby. Their round of 32 game, however, was much more harder, as they had to struggle in order to beat Ishoj IF by 3-2. Now they have a really tough challenge against a team they have had problems to beat in recent games.
