Sporting CP Vs Benfica

Sporting is current in 2nd place, 6 points behind Porto but right now that I'm writing this pick Porto is leading by 4:0 at half-time so for Sporting even in this big match only the win matters and nothing more. Even Sporting is in 2nd place they have been playing a really good season, they past their group stage in the Champions League, are still alive in the Cup and the only reason why they are 6 points behind was because there was a stretch were Sporting lost many points who they were unlucky but lately Sporting has starting to win all their games once again, the problem is that Porto is doing the same so they haven't recovered points against them and to be fair, it will be hard for Sporting conquer the league title again because I don't see Porto losing 6 points till the end of the season but Sporting will for sure fight till the end and also the 2nd place is a good one because it gives you direct access to the Champions League and Sporting needs the money. For this game Sporting is without Feddal, the rest of the squad is ready to play.

Benfica season has been one of the most strangest one's, in the Portuguese League they have been awful but in the Champions League they were really good, they made the quarter-finals and overall played a decent elimination round against Liverpool but now they are eliminated, Benfica's season is pratically over, they have a 9 point lead over Sporting Braga and are 9 points behind Sporting for the 2nd place, it's 99% likely that Benfica will end the season in 3rd place and there already focusing in the future, they will have a new coach and some players will be selled so I don't see many motivation in their players till the end of the season, of course today there motivation will be high because it's a Classico game but unfortunally for Benfica they are coming of a 3:3 road trip game against Liverpool and in that game Benfica fought big time, I expect many of their players to be kinda tired for this game because of it. For this game Benfica are without Pinho and Verissimo. Rafa and Darwin are doubtful but I believe that Darwin will play and Rafa is unlikely to play.

Since Coach Ruben Amorim took control of Sporting they have been dominating their rival Benfica and this season hasn't been different, they beat Benfica twice on the road by 3:1 in the League and 2:1 in the Cup and now they have the chance to beat them for the 3rd time and I believe they will, not only they are the better team and are more healthy than Benfica they also had way more rest than Benfica, Benfica is coming of a very intense game against Liverpool on the road and I expect some of their players to be tired and also the motivation factor, Benfica's season is pratically done and Sporting is still fighting for the league title and also it's very likely that Rafa will miss the game today too, without him Sporting who has the best defense in the league should have a secure day, yes, Darwin is most likely to play but I believe that Sporting will have not many problems with him if Rafa isn't in the game, but even if they were I would still favour Sporting here, I expect Sporting to beat Benfica here by 2:1 or 3:1 and get another win over their rivals.
