Valerenga finished 7th in last season of Elitseserien. It wasn't a good result considering they are just after top teams Bodo/Glimt, Molde and Rosenborg on paper. But they changed the coach and season mostly went bad with some unexpected losts.

At home they were very strong for example with just only 1 lost in 15 games. Very good record who probably will make the difference again.

They made some good investments in transfer market like def Hedenstadt from Karagumruk, def Bjarnason from Lecce, st Ismaheel from Lorient on loan and signed back st Donnum (10/6) from Standard Liege after they sold him in summer.

While the players left are 1st gk Klaessen (14/0), def Adekugbe (12/0) and mid Thomsen (13/1).

Valerenga lost the 1st game against Molde but had some chances and played a good game in general. With some luck they could even get the draw.

Out for this game are st Donnum (1/0) suspended and mid Holm (0/0).

Haugesund in other hand managed to be safe from relegation just because other opponents were so poor. Last season they win only 1 from 15 games away from home, being the 2nd worst team.

In transfer market lost many players so the roster is thin now without much quality especially in attack. Left the team st Velde (30/7), st Wadji (13/8), def Desler (10/1), def Hansen (30/2). Haugesund signed def Reese from Midtjylland and st Gong from Vitesse. The rest are just some youngsters from low division.

This season they started with a lost against Sandjeford a weak team too 1-3.

Doubtful for this game are def Pedersen (0/0), st Samuelsen (0/0) and mid Liseth (0/0) but all are regulars.

I think there is big difference in quality and structures of these teams, fighting also for different objectives.
