Atletico Tucuman host Central Cordoba for this Copa De La Liga Profesional round 7 battle at Estadio Monumental Jose Fierro early Wednesday morning Beijing time. The level of this league is unfortunately surprisingly low on average – especially compared to the very high level Argentina’s national team is at! They are even one of the favorites in World Cup later this year! However, there is a bunch of talented players, especially midfielders and strikers this league, and every year a log list promising guys move to Europe, especially to Spain and Portugal to play – sometimes even for top teams. Differences in resources and historical success are huge in this league and River Plate and Boca Juniors are both big clubs - even by global standards. The goal expectancy on average is low on this league, but I see this match as more high-scoring than the betting market and many football analysts online. The main reason for this the hosts abysmal defending so far this season. Indeed, it is hard to say anything positive about them in this department! 

The home advantage is substantial in this league on average, and whilst I am of course aware of the fact Atletico Tucuman do not have the best home fans, the number of goals they have allowed at home, six, is high. They have allowed a total of 12 goals this season, the second highest number in Group A. I do not see a quick improvement for them in this department. They have looked pretty disorganized in most matches and the players often seem to get angry at each other. They also often choose the wrong pass when trying to relieve pressure or start moving the ball forward – often unfortunately for them – often clearly without a clear strategy. They did beat Patronato, also not a good team, 1-0 at home about two weeks ago but were lucky not to allow a goal in balanced match. They have scored just 3 goals so far but in this department they surely have room for improvement.. There is some offensive talent in the team. However, they have lost both of their latest matches 0-4 and would have to improve a lot to win here. The betting market has in my opinion not reacted enough to their weak  performances and they are over-rated here.  Racing Club are a very good team of course but the way they dominated the hosts was very worrying from their perspective. Against Newells Old Boys today's hosts were better than the 0-4 loss would reflect but still did not play well. The visitors have not been their best this season either, but have also been unlucky in some matches.. They have potential for better performances and are definitely solid favorites today! Even a draw would be enough for my fans and myself to get another winner with the Central Cordoba +0.5 goals handicap option!
