In my opinion, Rennes is the second-best team in France and this season they are providing fantastic games and it is unlikely that the guests from Metz will be able to do anything today. Rennes has the third-best xG in the league and that is best seen in the last games of this team. They managed to beat Leicester at their stadium in the last game with 2-1, but their defeat in England cost them a further placement. Now the team can focus on the domestic championship and certainly the placement in the Champions League is the primary goal of this team, which is owned by one of the richest people in France. Rennes is in a fantastic goal-scoring streak, they have scored as many as 14 goals in the last 3 games in Ligue 1 and it is unlikely that the Metz defence will be able to withstand the strong pressure that will surely be exerted by the home team players for all 90 minutes. Metz ground out an unspectacular scoreless draw against Lens at home last weekend that keeps them in the bottom two. The team is struggling to score and coach Antonetti is banned for this game. Metz has a lot of absent players, Delaine and Centonze are absent, Udol, Maiga still missing and Pajot is banned. Metz need points badly so they cant play ultra-defensive but their attack is really miserable and I think they will play in lower ranks next season. Also, Metz has a worst xG in the league and it would take a miracle for them even to win a point today against "in-form" Rennes.
