Real Sociedad are indeed very clear favorites here despite not been able to grab that many wins lately. However, we must remember they have faced pretty tough opponents lately. In their most recent match they faced the best team in this league, Real Madrid and suffered a clear loss. There is no denying they played a bad match but the 1-4 loss away from home was still a bit too heavy taking the events on the pitch into account. We must remember just how good a team Real Madrid are at the moment – and have been almost throughout the whole season! They did have a few bad years before this season but will probably win La Liga this season. They also beat the mighty PSG this week in the Champions League Play offs. I believe this heavy loss affects the odds here too much.

Real Sociedad have also played two tough matches in recent weeks against a German team, Leipzig. It was a 2-2 draw away from home and a good performance from today’s hosts. The second leg in Spain was pretty balanced but Leipzig grabbed a 1-3 win. We must remember that Leipzig have improved a lot during the past approximately two months and are one of the best teams in the high-level German Bundesliga.. There is a very clear difference in class compared to Alaves, who did play well against Sevilla but are still a bad team, especially offensively..
