The attacking play has suffered from inconsistency in the number nine and ten positions. A prolonged absence for Kaoru Mitoma would make the situation even more difficult. Newcastle’s results have been better than their performances suggest, but the added burden of the Champions League has already taken its toll, with wingers Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall both injured. The overall quality difference favors Newcastle enough that I consider their slight away-favorite status justified.

BURNLEY – LEEDS U

Burnley’s performances have declined even further as the season has progressed, and there’s little doubt they’ve been the league’s weakest side. The main issue with their defense-oriented approach has been the drying up of attacking output, a problem made worse by injuries to two of their few bright spots, Jaidon Anthony and Lyle Foster. Leeds, on the other hand, have shown they can adapt their play to the demands of the Premier League, and their early-season form has lifted their power ranking by about one tier. The difference in quality between the sides clearly favors Leeds, who enter the match as favourites. I am also strongly considering a -1.5 Leeds here!
