AC Oulu’s position in the relegation battle has improved with two consecutive wins. Most recently, the expectedly tight away game against Jaro turned in AC Oulu’s favor with a 2-1 victory. Their previously poor finishing in the regular season has begun to stabilize. Defensive play has also gained structure thanks to signings such as goalkeeper Thomas Kinn and central defender Shadirac Say. The return of Onni Tiihonen, who was recently sidelined due to injury, would be a welcome boost for Oulu.

The balance of power between the teams has shifted significantly in AC Oulu’s favor during August and September. From the hosts' perspective, this is almost a must-win in the relegation battle, whereas for the visitors, avoiding defeat would be considered an acceptable result.
