Klopp is gone, “Mad Dog” Tindall remains, but now the real tension comes from Swedish star Alexander Isak. Relations with fans could also be damaged beyond repair. Newcastle have even unsettled Brentford by eyeing striker Yoane Wissa (19 league goals last season), but no agreement has been reached. The late transfer deadline is blamed for this kind of instability. Newcastle also lacks leadership behind the scenes after sporting director Paul Mitchell’s sudden departure. Striker targets like Šeško, Ekitike, and João Pedro have slipped away, leaving the squad too thin for both the Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

On the pitch, Liverpool beat Bournemouth 4–2 in a chaotic opener, but defensive gaps were clear – similar to their Charity Shield game against Crystal Palace. Gravenberch is back, which should help, but right-back options are limited with Frimpong injured and Bradley not yet fit. Joe Gomez will likely start, offering a more defensive profile.
