It’s still shocking for me as a big Levante admirer to see the club in the situation they are currently in - bottom of La Liga, still without a single win in the campaign and slowly drowning towards relegation.

The Valencia based club was hit hard early in the season by a streak of injuries, then came confidence issues in combination with the manager losing control of the dressing room.

Assignment of Alessio Lisci as caretaker has thus far brought no amends either - the inexperienced 36-years old Italian is 0-1-3 in La Liga to date with an insane poor goal balance. In the last 3 league games Levante conceded at least 4 (!) goals per game.

All of these misfortunes do not deny one fact - club’s squad is roughly the same as it was the season prior, when the club comfortably finished in mid-table zone. With this in mind, I do believe a turnaround is inevitable for Levante and they are not going to give up without a proper fight.

Welcoming Mallorca on home ground looks as one of the best opportunities they’d get to take maximum points. Visitors, who had won promotion in summer, did significantly better than anyone expected them to in the opening part of the season, but then things started moving towards normality - as a result Mallorca’s only won once (!) through the last 11 LaLiga games.

There can be no two opinions about the advantage in terms of squad quality Levante has over their Saturday opponent too.

With the home support and basically an injury free squad, I expect “The Frogs” to finally get their first win of the 21/22 season. The low odds (1.60sh) on a 0 handicap line look as a decent investment to me.
