They recently sold a dangerous Danish goal scorer, Mads Borchers, to Ingolstadt, a German club. Indeed, their offense lacks individual skill, speed and its structure is not great either..

The bookies seem to have failed to understand how limited a team VPS are at the moment.. The bookies see SJK as only pretty thin favourites here - offering odds up to about 2.55 on the away win. I disagree! Based on my expert analysis the visitors - despite the decent home advantage -  have a 44% chance of taking all three points today. Seinäjoki is not far from Vaasa so a good number of SJK fans are expected to be cheering for their team at the arena today. We will take the SJK +0.5 goals handicap option. I want to emphasize that VPS have been in decline in terms of both results and performances. This has - totally understandably - lowered their level of confidence. They have failed to win any of their last eight games - all eight were Veikkausliiga matches but have still not been terrible in all of these games. In their last game they faced a pretty limited team, IFK Mariehamn, at home. VPS were priced around 1.60 to win but it was a 1-1 draw. The ball possession was 51-49% and VPS recorded only one big scoring chance - 1-0 to be precise. VPS did generate 0.57 more in xG in this pretty low-level game but were definitely overvalued on the betting market.. Before this VPS faced Jaro away from home - priced around 2.05 to win by the bookies at the time of kickoff. Jaro have one of the lowest players' salary budgets in this league and were promoted from the 2nd tier to Veikkausliiga for this season.. Jaro recorded one more total shot and shot on goal - as well as four more corner kicks in this pretty intense and entertaining match. 2-2 was the final score but Jaro generated more in xG - 1.94-1.51 to be precise. VPS' performance was - once again - a clear disappointment as a whole.. On the 28th of June and in the first half of July VPS lost four games in a row - allowing a total of nine goals in these matches.

Let's not forget that SJK have lost only one of their last eight Veikkausliiga games. However, in the UEFA Conference League Qualification round 1 in July they were, however, not at their best and lost to Klaksvik, a Faroese team, 1-4 on aggregate. Klaksvik, were, in my opinion, the favourites to qualify and deserved to do so but the 4-1 does flatter them.. Klaksvik performed above their usual level in both legs though.. SJK have, for some reason, never achieved much in international games. Consequently I will not give being eliminated by Klaksvik too much emphasis ahead of this Veikkausliiga match in Vaasa. I emphasize that the only recent defeat in Veikkausliiga defeat came some two weeks ago against Inter Turku, the current leaders, 1-4 on the road. Inter deserved to win but the final score is still misleading. Indeed, Inter recorded 19 total shots, SJK managed 14. Inter had five more shots on target than SJK but SJK recorded four more corner kicks. In their last game SJK swept past KTP 3-0 at home. KTP are not a great team but I need to mention that they have hired new players - and improved recently.. However, SJK were too strong! Yes, KTP, too, had their chances - including a missed penalty when the score was 2-0 - but SJK recorded 3.12 in xG and deserved to win. Before losing to Inter, SJK deservedly beat a dangerous opponent, Gnistan, at home. 3-1 was the final score and SJK recorded many more total shots (16-7), shots on goal (9-2) and corner kicks - 9-1 to be precise!
