However, this does not really worry me and I believe the bookies and recreational bettors give too emphasis to this factor.. Chelsea are playing a pretty strong season in the English Premier League, the best league in the world – by a wide margin. Indeed, they are in 4th place with a fine 53 points in their pocket. They have scored 54 goals in this league and have conceded 37. However, their number of expected goals (xG) is 63.34. They have, in all honesty, not been quite at their best performance-wise recently. However, they have so much talent and individual skill in the team that they have won five of their last seven games. 

In their last game Chelsea faced Brentford on the road but had to settle for a goalless draw. However, they were the better team – recording many more total shots, shots on target, big scoring chances and corner kicks. Chelsea also generated more in xG. Before this they beat a dangerous but chronically underperforming opponent, Tottenham, 1-0 at home. Chelsea were not at their best but still deserved the narrow win. In round 29, some three weeks ago, Chelsea were excellent, beating Arsenal 1-0 at home. Chelsea recorded more total shots on shots on goal – and allowed Arsenal only 0.37 in xG. I was very impressed with the way Chelsea defended in this game. Let's remember that Arsenal, currently in 2nd place, crushed Real Madrid, one of the best teams in the world, 3-0 at home in the Champions League! Legia have been disappointing in the Polish Ekstraklasa this season. They are only in 5th place with 44 points in their pocket. They have won two of their last four games. In their most recent match they beat Gornik Zabrze 2-1 on the road as favourites but did not really impress me.. The hosts could easily have won the game as they recorded nine more total shots on two more shots on target.. Legia have not met an opponent of even close to Chelsea's caliber for ages and even a draw would really surprise me here..
