Sporting comes from this game after the 2nd loss of the season and the 1st for national competitions. They lost last game against Maritimo for the Cup but they rotated a lot of players and they needed to, because they played 3 days before against Nacional in an incredible storm. But, the true is that they played well and could have been winning 2-0 at half time and Maritimo was very effective. The players seem to love the coach Ruben Amorim who is a great communicator and very captivating. I think they will give a strong answer against Rio Ave and they know that they have an amazing opportunity to escape from rivals that play today against each other. Sporting is with 3 covid cases and 1 suspension (Neto, Sporar, Nuno Mendes with Covid and Feddal suspended). In my opinion the most important is Nuno Mendes but can be replaced very well by Nuno Santos. Sporting living a very good moment with a lot of confidence and their focus is all on the League so its like a all-in today because if Benfica and Porto draw they can be 6 points forward.

Rio Ave improved a bit with the new coach, but they are not playing very well and cant create many chances as they could create. Their last game they were dominated by the 2nd league team Estoril. For today against Sporting they have a tough game, against a Sporting very motivated and confident and is the most aggressive team in the league. They will go without 2 important players (Filipe Augusto and Pele) and so the coach will need to change the main line-up.
