Rogério Ceni started his coaching career at São Paulo in 2017. He left the team after a series of bad results and went to Fortaleza, where he became an idol, winning the Serie B in 2018 and the Copa do Nordeste in 2019.

In 2019, Rogério Ceni interrupted his collaboration with Fortaleza and move to Cruzeiro, but he stayed there only for a very short period and then returned to Fortaleza.

In November 2020, Rogério Ceni left Fortaleza again in the middle of the season and took charge of Flamengo. Despite criticism and early elimination in Libertadores, his team won the Brasileirão Série A. It’s funny that they won the title precisely at Morumbi, against São Paulo. Flamengo actually lost to São Paulo in that game, but they still won the title thanks to Internacional’s draw with Corinthians.

Now São Paulo again need points badly, in order to keep on pursuing G-8 finish to enter next year’s Copa Liberatores. Flamengo are quite sure of G-3 finish in the league and now they are only focusing on the final of Copa Liberatores.
