Wales hosts Belarus for this World Cup at Cardiff City Stadium for this FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifying match with very high stakes for the hosts who are currently in third place in the group. Both Wales and Czech Republic have 11 points but Wales have one match less played so far and as a result, have everything in their own hands in terms of qualification! They should be extra motivated to win today! Let's take a closer look..

Wales, despite being a relatively small country - have qualified for Euro and World Cups multiple times in the past and are indeed very close doing that once again. I must say they have not been at their best in recent years but nevertheless managed to qualify from the group last summer in EURO 2020 but very crushed by Denmark 4-0 in the playoffs. Denmark, however, are of course a very good team - top-15 in the World - in my opinion as I have written many times before. Wales have still played pretty okay in this qualification group in general. In their most recent match they beat Estonia away from home 1-0 and played a pretty solid match. Before this played a very good match away from home versus Czech Republic as clear underdogs. It was a 2-2 draw but Wales had slightly more ball possession, scoring attempts, shots on goal, attacks and dangerous attacks. Before this they were not at their best, especially offensively, at home against Estonia - it was a draw despite clear Welsh domination. Estonia, however, have raised their level in recent years and are not a bad team anymore. 

Belarus, on the other hand, have been disappointing for a long time already and have lost seven matches in a row! Most of these losses have come after horribly bad performances and they were more or less without any chance in many matches. Even Estonia beat them 2-0 about a month ago! Before this they lost "only" 0-1 to Belgium at home but the final score really flatters Belarus. In their most recent match they lost to the Czechs 0-2 at home and the visitors were clearly better. It is impossible to write anything positive about the team.. They do not have a good manager and the team spirit is not good either. They do have a few skilled individuals but as a team they are low-level!

To sum up, the motivated hosts, who are also of course clearly better by raw class have a clearly over 60% chance to win by at least two goals' difference. Wales -1.5 goals handicap is my pick for my growing fan-base!
