Visitors have generally had a pathetic qualifying campaign and deservedly sit 2nd from the bottom in the table. Their only successful results came against Liechtenstein and on home soil against Macedonia and Armenia.

In the reverse fixture in Iceland against Romania the team had lost 0-2.

Speaking of squad issues for Iceland, they are understaffed in all compartments, but mostly in midfield, where Victor Palsson (Schalke 04), Gudmunsson (Burnley), Sigurdsson (Venezia) and long time leader Gylfi Sigurdsson (Everton) are either unavailable through injury or have not been called up.

Given the obvious quality difference between the two teams, Romania's big home advantage and visitors being pressed against the wall for a result (nothing but a win will do) - I am pretty sure hosts will be celebrating 3 points tonight.
