I most certainly did not expected much from Getafe before the season started and ranked them lower than most football analysts and the betting market but they have indeed been very bad so far. They have failed to win any matches and have scored just three points and have a goal difference of 4:17. These are pathetically bad numbers! Whilst I recognize their performances on the pitch have been a little better than the last place in the standings and the low number of points would indicate it is hard to say anything too positive about their football. Their offense truly lacks creativity and quality. They played another lame match on Monday at home versus Celta Vigo losing 0-3 despite quite surprisingly been set as favorites by the betting market. The quite late red card when the score was 0-2 did not make much difference. The visitors, who also have had a disappointing start to the season and are not a good team away from had over 65% ball possession and created a lot scoring chances. The expected goals numbers were depressing from the hosts' point of view as they only created some 0.40 goals whereas Celta Vigo's number was about 2.60 goals. On Thursday they they grabbed a very undeserved point versus Granada away from home. The score was 1-1 but Granada created some 2.50 in expected goals whereas Getafe's number was just 0.50. Before this they defended well versus Levente taking and got a 0-0 draw but again showed very little offensively. Again not a good performance. However, Levente, of course not a good team though, created only some 0.90 in expected goals.

Espanyol are in clearly better form than the hosts and I see them as favorites even away from home. They have slightly exceeded my expectations so far this season. They have played better than the hosts throughout the whole season. They have not been either lucky or unlucky in terms of expected points - and slightly lucky when taking a look at expected goals. They have scored a respectable 14 points so far - a number they have deserved. This is Getafe's third match this week already - that is bit too much, even at this level so fatigue is a factor here. I strongly believe the visitors have an excellent chance to take at least a point!
