I can’t see Atletico Madrid losing points again.

Espanyol is a newly promoted team. Have a good squad (maybe the best of the promoted teams this season) but they are still weak and their target will be to avoid relegation.

They have not started the season well. Winless in 3 games, lost against Mallorca (newly promoted too) and drew against Osasuna and Villarreal. Is a team with quality in attack but a weak defence.

For this match they will miss three starters: Defender and captain David Lopez, talented midfielder Yangel Herrera and winger Puado. They have replacements which are good too, but a bit weaker.

On the other hand, Atletico de Madrid has the best squad in La Liga. They won the title last season so are favorites, but have been the only team of the top3 who improved even more their team with the signings of De Paul and Griezmann.

I’m not worried about the international break because Luis Suarez stayed in Madrid, Griezmann and other european players arrived already 5 days ago. So only De Paul is the important player who won’t be available today (because he arrived tired and too late). Simeone will put the best lineup possible in the field, with the back of Griezmann who surely will make a great duo along with Suarez this season. Instead of De Paul, we will see Lemar who is at the same level.

Atletico started the season well. In the last round drew 2-2 against Villarreal but they deserved to win there: had more chances, dominated the game and were very unlucky. Their performances so far have been great, showing a very strong attack and solid defence. The draw of the last round makes me think that they will have even more motivation to achieve the three points here.

The strong point of Espanyol is their attack, while their weak one is the defence. That’s why I see Atletico de Madrid favorite here: they have the best defence of La Liga so I see them totally able to achieve the goal to nil and to control hosts strikers. In attack, I’m sure that they will find chances and goals, as Simeone’s guys will have the best attack of the league undoubtedly.
