This is my 2nd bet on Bayer in 3 rounds. I would’ve backed them to beat Borussia Moenchengladbach a week ago, but the visitors' surprising 1-1 draw against Bayern drew me away and caused concerns. However, things went according to expectations and a much improved Bayer team absolutely destroyed Gladbach, scoring 4 and could’ve easily, no joke, found the net 7 or 8 times.

I had already briefly mentioned the important change at the coaching position that Leverkusen management made early in the summer. They released unreliable, overrated and overhyped Bosch (who is now successfully sinking Lyon and causing heart-attacks amongst its’ fans in Ligue1) and assigned an equally offensive, yet, more organized and reasonable manager Gerardo Seoane. After leading Young Boys to 3 (!) Swiss titles, he’s been deservedly given a raise and made the next big step in a relatively short career (Seoane is only 42).

The new manager has switched Bayer to his beloved 442 system, which basically serves as a 424, when the team is going forward. The overload it provides in the final third, with a variety of crosses for one of Euro’20 standout strikers Patrick Schick, has already helped the team net 8 goals in 3 official games of the new season. Bayer is really silky smooth in the transition phase and has potential to get only better.

They’ve done some smart business on the transfer market over summer bringing in young blood to the backline:

1) left fullback Mitchel Bakker (from PSG), who has already contributed with 2 assists in as many games;

2) 20-year old Kossounou from Belgian champions Club Brugge;

3) defensive midfielder Robert Andrich from Union Berlin

4) and the most recent signing Colombian prodigy Piero Hincapie from Argentinian top flight club CA Talleres.

The offensive compartment has been boosted by this week’s signing of Amine Adli from French side Toulouse.

The only loss for Bayer’s had is problematic winger Leon Bailey (32.00m EUR to Aston Villa). But as I’ve already said, I would argue, if this is not, in fact, Bayer’s big success to offload him for this much money.

Augsburg at the moment is one of the shakiest teams in the tournament. After getting badly smacked at home by Hoffenheim (0-4), they miraculously survived in Frankfurt with a 0-0 draw (0 shots on target).

Bavarians are badly understaffed and lack quality in attack, where almost everything if not all depends on individual input of their biggest asset - Ruben Vargas.

Augsburg’s bound to suffer against in-form and rising Bayer and should prove too disorganized, when the teams go head to head on Saturday. Another fun fact to back the bet is Augsburg’s unrealistically poor record against the Leverkusen club - 20 games without a win and counting.

本周从法国图卢兹签下阿明·阿德利后，进攻性的阵容得到了提升。

勒沃库森唯一的损失是边锋利昂·贝利(卖给阿斯顿维拉3200万欧元)。但正如我说过的，我认为，如果不是勒沃库的取得巨大成功，他的身价也不会这么高。

奥格斯堡目前是联赛中最不稳固的球队之一。在主场被霍芬海姆(0-4)痛击后，他们在法兰克福以0-0平局(0次射正)奇迹般地存活了下来。
