The markets have reacted to Chelsea good form, team and top signing of Lukaku, but so they should!

In the first round I did go againts Arsenal in their deserved loss v Brentford, and nothing we saw in the match is to change to mind.

Chelsea on the other had emerged as clear 3-0 winners over Palace, who in turn drew 0-0 with Brentford on Saturday.

Well, naturally it is not quite that easy to make any conclusions over a few results.

A big London derby in question, but...is it only tradiotionally, is Arsenal any match today?

One reason for the poor Brentford-game was naturally the last minute news of top strikers Aubameyang and Lacazzette suddendly injuring ahead of the game, but of course it is more about transfer fooling around than real injuries. However they are also likely out today, and that leaves coach Arteta basically only bad choices. Pepe has been horrible and might be out of his normal winger positition today, Rowe is not good enough, and that leaves Arsenal’s hopes on Saka… or can there really be young Folarin Balogun again?

If Saka starts then perhaps we see Martinelli moving from the wing to the center? A lot of questions, very little good answers. Arsenal have also good news in form of Odegaard transfer from Madrid, but he is not likely to play, and personally I am disappointed with his mental strenght as he did not want to fight for his place.

Chelsea met a weak opponent Palace and did not need Lukaku then, and there are a few doubts but with the width and class of Chelsea material there is not much point to discuss a few absentees. even if Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic and Zieyech are top players and would start almost anywhere else anytime.

Since Tuchel came to coach Chelsea they did step up their level as the Champion’s league title well demonstrates, and winning the Supercup over Villarreal was not bad either. They are deservedly a title candidate, and as there is a big gap this season after the big-4 I see the odds of Chelsea still worth taking. Arsenal are likely somewhere at 7th-10th, and Arteta will be fired before Christmas.

Looking at odds and traditional ways to estimate 1x2 percentages it is hard to see value, but it is also a mental and subconsious thing as this is Arsenal, but let us have a mental rehearsal. What if the team name was Crystal Palace or Brighton? They are not much worse than Arsenal are today.
