Ekenäs IF vs Gnistan

Ekenäs IF welcome Gnistan from Helsinki at Tammisaaren Keskuskenttä on Saturday for this Finnish Ykkönen match. Ykkönen is the second highest level of Finnish football and a league I, as a Finn myself, have watched very closely for some thirty years already and been betting on for some twenty years with very good results! Ekenäs are strong at home and have been slightly unlucky not to have grabbed even more points at Tammiseeren Keskuskenttä. The match was very balanced overall, perhaps Ekenäs were slightly closet to winning than KPV. A similar performance would probably be enough to beat Gnistan on Saturday.

We have won most of our picks in Ykkönen but lost one some days ago when Gnistan were very disappointing versus PK-35 in a match that I estimated would be a very balanced one. However, the hosts PK-35 were clearly the better team and dominated for some 75 minutes taking 3-0 lead. Gnistan did manage to make it 3-2 at the later stages of the match after PK-35 got a little lazy with defense but I would say PK-35 would have deserved to win by two goals. Gnistan have played well away from home this season but if they do not improve a lot from the PK-35 match they will very likely lose in Ekenäs. Many of Gnistan's players seemed to be quite fatigued and they do not have very good players outside the normal starting lineup. They have now lost four matches in a row and whilst they did have a chance to take points things are starting to look quite worrying for them.

To sum up, hosts are stronger by raw class and in much better shape at the moment and have over 60% chance of winning. I recommend Ekenäs -0.5 goals handicap for my fans.
