They have played surprisingly many friendlies ahead of this season and in that sense they should be relatively ready. The friendly results are usually more or less misleading and there is no point to go through them in detail,Valencia have a 4-1-2 record from them, Getafe are unbeaten with a 5-1-0 saldo, but in general they faced a bit smaller teams.

Coaching and tactical approach

The current Valencia coach Bordalas was 5 years at Getafe and he knows all the weaknesses and strengths of Getafe. Or does he? His approach was always very defensive and violent, and there is a feeling he did not take full use of the class of some of his players, perhaps they were not noticed? Getafe miss their best player of the preseason - Timor - due suspension, and Nyom and Poveda are injured. However they did make some promising signings and perhaps Vitolo will finally get his chance to impress, he came from neighbours Atletico. Sandro Ramirez is another one who has a lot of potential which is so far missed.

Valencia will probably be the most hated club in La LIga this season in case Bordalas tries to turn them into another Getafe.
