Trofense was the champion of Liga 3 in 2020/2021, but they changed a lot the team and the players are still trying to adapt to the new ideas. They lost specially the striker Joao Paredes, the fast winger Yair Castro and bought Bruno Moreira and Andrezinho from Leiria. I expect them for this season to fight to avoid the relegation places, as the team changed a lot. In the first official match, for the league cup they lost at home 3-0 against Sporting Covilha. Their 1st game of the League was against Porto B and they drew 2-2, but in the 1st half they were completely dominated, with 9 shots for Porto B and 0 for Trofense and Porto had 3 or 4 clear chances to score and in the last minute of the 1st half the centre-back Joao Paulo took the ball over the line and in the 2nd half Porto B lost some energy and Trofense had the merit of knowing how to take advantage of that lack of energy. They will play at home, but their home factor is not so strong as other teams. Another important fact is that the coach comes for this 2nd league much more defensive, in the last year they were playing in 4-3-3 and now changed to 5-4-1 to be more solid and because of that I think that they will be happy to draw against Estrela da Amadora.

Estrela da Amadora have more games in the legs than Trofense as they eliminated Vizela in the 1st game of League Cup but were then eliminated by Penafiel (1-0) and they didn't deserve to lose in the 90 minutes. In the season 2020/2021 they were 1st in their serie and played against Trofense to decide the champion title in the Estadio of Jamor. The game was very equilibrated and Trofense won with some merit but there was a lot of confusion during the game, and for sure Estrela's players will try to revenge that game today. They made a good investment for this year, didn't lost important players and bought experienced ones like Matheus Dantas (formed in Flamengo), Mamadu Cande who played in Santa Clara 2 seasons ago, Miguel Rosa formed in Benfica and played for Belenenses SAD, Cova da Piedade and will be a very important player for them, and Fabricio Simoes who is one of the best goalscorers of Liga 2, last year was the best goalscorer of Feirense and 2 years ago was the best goalscorer of the League by Farense and they announced Diogo Salomao, who was a star in the formation of Sporting CP and who played last season almost 20 games for Santa Clara, this was an amazing transfer and I am pretty sure that he will be in the top10 of best players of Liga2. They will have more supporters than Trofense, even playing as away as they are a historical team who was in the 1st League many years and so they will fight to go back there in few years. Their number 10 Xavi Fernandes is an incredible player that I really think this will be his last year in this league, he has a lot of talent and is clearly over the others from his team.
