SC Covilha made a big revolution in the team for this season. They had a strange season in 2020/2021 with 3 coaches, Dauto Faquira, Nuno Capucho and Jose Bizarro ended the season, but after the end of the season Jose Bizarro was sacked and they have bought Wender Said, an ex-player of SC Braga. His last season as coach was in 2018/2019 and he was sacked from Braga B, and after 2 seasons without work he is back to the active to coach SC Covilha. They have lost a lot of player, starting from the defense they only lost Felipe Macedo, a very fast centre-back, in the midfield they lost Lamine, Bernardo Martins, Filipe Cardoso to Maritimo, and so from the 4 midfielders they only stayed with Gilberto Silva, the most experienced player in the league, but he has now 34 years and I dont expect him to have much minutes as in 2020/2021. On the attack they lost Inters Gui, Deivison, Rui Areias, Leo Cá and the 2 best players of Covilha, Enoh and the player formed in Porto, Gleison Moreira. They coming from a very good win against Trofense, where they won 3-0 but against a team that got promoted last season from 3rd League and made a lot of changes for this season aswell. They bought some good players in the attack, like Arnold, Diego Medeiros and Diogo Almeida but they are worse than the others they had in the last season for sure, and for sure in the beginning of this season will be harder as the team is still adapting to the coach and to a lot of players. They bought a lot of players from Portimonense u23 and not their best players from that team, and if we have a look to where Portimonense was last season... They made 6th place in the 1st phase, with 6 points in 12 games.

CD Mafra is becoming a stable team in the 2nd league of Portugal. They were the team that start better the 2nd league in 2020/2021 and played the top-8 of League Cup for being in the 1st place at that moment, but then they started to lose confidence and started to doubt of their coach Filipe Candido. The president had a lot of patience to not sack him before, but after a really long streak Filipe Candido left the club and they brought Ricardo Sousa, an ex-player and with a lot of talent of Beira Mar. He didn't start really well last season, he made 4 draws and 2 defeats in 6 games, but they didn't had any objective at that moment as they were already relaxed and was not possible to get promoted or demoted. And in those 6 games he played against Chaves, Academica, Arouca and Estoril (4 teams of the top 5). And they drew with Chaves and Academica and pushed them out of the promotion fight. For this season, they won the only official game they made so far, they eliminated Belenenses SAD from the 1st division, in a curious game where the coach of Mafra Ricardo Sousa defeated his son Afonso Sousa who plays for Belenenses SAD. They lost some players from the midfield like Carlos Daniel, Cuca and Kaka (not the Ballon D'Or winner of 2007), but bought amazing players like Chano who was playing for Belenenses and was formed by Lille with a lot of talent, they bought Leandrinho who was the most expensive transfer payed in Rio Ave's history in 2016/2017 and Pedro Aparicio with a lot of technique who worked with Ricardo Sousa on the last season in Beira Mar. In the attack they kept the best players Okitokandjo and Abel Camara, and so I think they are more prepared than Covilha that made an incredible revolution in the club. I see Mafra favorite for this game and so I think they will advance to the next phase.
