DJURGARDENS - HACKEN

We should see an easy home win here.

Djurgardens is one of the best teams in the Allsvenskan. They are fighting for the title with Malmo. Are two points below, but with one less game played. This means that winning today, will achieve the 1st position.

They are the team with less defeats so far, as they just lost one game of 12 played (unluckily against Degerfors). Their defense is so solid, in fact they have the best of the whole Allsvenskan after conceding just 7 goals so far. The rest of the teams have conceded double digits. In the last 5 league games, only Sirius managed to score one goal when Djurgardens were 5:0 down (ended 5:1).

At home, they conceded just 2 goals in 6 games: this one I mentioned by Sirius, and another one by Malmo.

These aren’t only stats. Rivals struggle a lot to create chances against their solid defence. The best example was the last game against Kalmar (who scored 2 goals against Hacken but lost 2:3) where they weren’t able to make a single shot on target in the whole match.

But in attack they are strong too, as they scored 22 goals. Only leaders Malmo and Hammarby have scored more. Definitely coach Kim Bergstrand has built an amazing team.

On the other hand, Hacken is a very average side. They are a mid-table team, but also will arrive at this match far from their best level in the physical aspect. In the midweek they played a demanding match against Aberdeen in the Conference League, where they had to come back from a 5:1 defeat in the first leg. And they were close to do it, as they won 2:0.

They have changed the coach and it seems that players are starting to feel better with him, but still need more time to adapt.

Going to Stockholm to play against one of the best teams and solid defenses of the league after that match just 2 days ago isn’t a good deal for Hacken. Key midfielder Alexander Faltsetas is suspended for this match.

Djurgardens have a better squad and are favourites to achieve the three points here. They look unstoppable this season, while Hacken have been really inconsistent. If both teams continue on their regular level shown so far, we should see a home win.

They aren’t able to keep the goal to nil and it’s too difficult for them to achieve points, especially playing against strong sides like Ostersuns.

We must remember that this club is in crisis. After achieve to play Europe League in 2018, they had a transfer ban in 2019 by FIFA due to debts, which were applied also last year and this summer. This means that Ostersunds can’t make new signings, so they are using the same squad for 3 seasons. Last year in 2020 they finished 13th, the last position of the safe zone. Also some key players who left the club couldn't have been replaced.

On the other hand, Hammarby will be angry and with extra motivation to win this match. They wanted to postpone it as they played Conference League away against Maribor 2 days ago and now will have another trip to Norrland. Then, next week they will play against Cukaricki in Belgrade.

But Ostersunds rejected the request, so the match will be played.

Hammarby have a great squad and are getting excellent results. 5 wins in official games in a row, 4th position and the 2nd best attack of the league with 24 goals scored in 12 games, just below leaders Malmo who scored 31 so far.

Key player Khalili is back from injury, but Rodic is out due to covid.
