But only Niort had to play relegaation playoffs against 3rd tier level club and they finaly save season in those playoffs as they were better then Villefranche. In this season, I think Niort will be nothing different, as they didnt signed so many real signings. Niort played a 0-0 in first match of the season against Valenciennes and it wasn't bad match from the team-however, it will be different thing when they have to open up and go forward, as they are typical counter attacking side.

About Caen, well, I see them more then able to avvoid relegation worries in this season if we take a look on their squad and ambitions for this season. Some even say they are title contenders together with Paris FC and Sochaux. Caen won firstt game 4-0 vs Rodez at home, in a match where their fans finally were allowed to see the players. A big group of fans decided to follow Caen on away games too, so today Caen will also have a good support from their fans in Niort.

With the level of ambitions of two sides, knowing their limits and focus in game, I see Caen closer to victory. Two mutual games last season between Niort and Caen, 1 win for each side. I can imagine draw today or Caen victory following their spirit from the opening season game and 4 scored goals without conceding.
