FK Nizhny Novgorod finished 3rd last season in FNL but because 2nd place Orenburg didn't get the license for stadium, they were promoted to Russian Premier League.

As coach they hired a very young and unexperienced Kerzhakov. He have been a legend as player but as coach never trained in RPL.

So this team ia a big question mark because they didn't even had many friendlies in pre season. They played against Rubin Kazan 2 times and CSKA Moscow collecting 3 losts.

Sochi in other hand have been in activity from more than 1 month because of Europa League games. Against Keshla in midweek they win 3-0 and it's a big boost for the team.

In transfer market they bring very good and experienced players like mid Angban from Metz, def Barac from Rapid Vienna, def Rodrigao from Gil Vicente and def Terekhov from Orenburg.

Now the roster seems complete to face 2 competitions.

While players left are def Mevlja (33/3), def Novoseltsev (19/0), st Zabolotnyi (30/10) and mid Prutsev (22/0).

In pre season friendlies they collected mixed results but on paper they are more solid than last season.
