In my opinion IFK Goteborg have really good chances to make 3 points in today's match up.

Currently Goteborg have good streak at home against Mjallby as they recorded 3 wins (all of them with 2 goals margin) in last 4 home matches against them. They scored at least 2 goals in each game.

Mjallby so far plays very poor season, they are only 2 points above relegation zone after 10 rounds. They looked so bad in away matches - no wins and 3 losses in the process. They weren't able to keep any clean sheet and they not played against top teams like Malmo or Djugarden. They are not in good form at the moment - since middle of the May they played 6 matches - no wins and not even single clean sheet. After league restart they played 2 matches - two weeks ago they lost 1:2 on away against 11th Sirius. They conceded 2 goals after silly errors from defensive formation. One week ago they lost at home against Norrkoping 0:1 and they were lucky to avoid bigger loss.

Goteborg played much better season so far - they lost only 2 matches. In those both matches they played better than opponents as they had higher expected goals scored number. Ambition in club is big and they wants to go high this year. That's why in the short league break they made some important changes. They signed new coach - very experienced Mikael Stahre. He should be able to bring them to another level. We already saw some changes in tactic from 442 to 343 and team starts to look better. Two weeks ago in first match with him on the bench Goteborg lost 0:1 at home against 3rd Elfsborg, but that wasn't deserved result. Goteborg had 1.98 expected goals scored, Elfsborg only 0.97. In last round everything start clicking together and Goteborg recorded fully deserved win on away against Ostersunds. Expected goals scored for Goteborg 2.66, for Ostersunds 0.76. In last round two important players - central defender Johansson and striker Soder - came back to the team and today Goteborg is ready to go with momentum.

Goteborg signed two new players which are high quality players in Swedish league standards. They signed striker Marcus Berg. Big transfer, he played for Sweden in Euro2020. He should give extra edge for Goteborg in finishing product. They signed as well experienced left defender Oscar Wendt (over 300 matches for Borussia M'Gladbach). He should add some experience and calmness at the back. With them on the pitch Goteborg should be much stronger team and they have real chances to finish in top6 or so, but they have to win such matches against lower rank opposition.

Mjallby is one of the worst team in league with the ball. Only 275 accurate passes per game. On the other hand Goteborg with the ball is top6 team in Allsvenskan league. Over 400 accurate passes per game (80.3 % pass success). Goteborg should be able to control middle zone without too many problems today.

Goteborg is simply better team, their squad looks much stronger and they looking for the first home win with Mikael Stahre on the bench. Motivation is sky high on fully crowded stadium and they have all required tools to make it.6
