They scored 7 goals and conceded only 2 and those 2 goals, the first was against Chile in a penalty's recharge and the 2nd goal was against Bolivia where they were already winning 3-0 and in a game that they rotated a lot the team to rest some of the best players for the quarter finals. They have the best goalscorer of the competition, Leo Messi that is trying to win his first title for Argentina. They have here a good chance to achieve that, as they will face a poor Ecuador here in then can play against Uruguay or Colombia in the semi finals. That's the main trophy that Messi is missing as everyone criticizes him for didn't win a title for Argentina yet unlike his rival Cristiano Ronaldo. Argentina since Scaloni arrived seems a more solid team and the environment between the team seems better than before. I cannot see this poor team of Ecuador not conceding atleast 2 goals today.

Ecuador suffered a lot to be on this quarter finals after being the 4th in their group with 3 points and without any win yet (3 draws , 1 lose). They scored 5 goals and conceded 6 goals. They depend a lot from the individual quality of their players as collectively they are one of the worst teams of this competition in my opinion. Their best players are Enner Valencia that is not the same he was some years ago and now is playing for Fenerbahce and Moises Caicedo, the beast on the midfield that left Independiente del Valle to join Brighton, and there were a lot of news saying that Manchester United was interested on him and probably he will not play this game as he is in doubt and if he doesn't play it's terrible news for Ecuador. Today they will face the 2nd favorite to win this competition after Brazil (as they play at home) and will face one of the best players ever that really wants to finally win this competition that he is missing. The 2 centre-backs of Ecuador are a bit slow and are too much aggressive and I really think it will cause them real problems as the best players from Argentina play in the middle, Lautaro Martinez, Aguero, Messi...
