We all remember how good Croatians were three years ago in World Cup making it all the way to the final fighting hard with France but eventually losing 2-4. There are still many same players in today's team like Modric and Perisic but they are getting older and slower. Modric does still play for Real Madrid but Real Madrid  are longer "giants of European" soccer like when they dominated the Champions and won three times in a row!  The betting market, especially people who don't bet regularly but mostly only invest their money in betting in big tournaments like EURO 2020 love famous players like Modric and often bets are based on these big names and past performances. Three years is a long time in any sport and I have to oppose Croatia today. 

Croatia had no chance at all versus England in their opening match at Wembley in London. Of course England are one of the biggest faves in this tournament and started the match as clear favorites but still Croatia's offensive performance was nothing to get excited about. They didn't deserve a goal and ended up losing 1-0. However, Croatia's performance as clear favorites versus Czech Republic is what worries me even more. Especially in the first half they played slow and created almost nothing in offense and were trailing 0-1 at half time. They did enhance their play a little in the second half and managed to score a goal to grab one point at the end but could easily have lost too. They need to show a lot more to beat Scotland today.

Scotland have not scored a goal yet and lost to Czechs 0-2 and I must admit they deserved to lose that match. However, they played an excellent match versus England earning a point in a scoreless battle. Scotland defended extremely well and didn't allow more than a few good scoring chances despite being heavy underdogs in the match. In fact they could have won the match and had eleven scoring chances whereas as England had nine. The Scots seemed to have a very good team spirit and really fought as a team which is always a good sign. That is what they have to do to stand a chance in this tournament as they have no stars in the team. It was a quite surprising and promising performance versus England indeed. If they can repeat even close to that performance today they will likely finally score and likely will not lose which would mean we win the bet! Scotland is not a famous big soccer country which means that they are under-valued on the betting market.
