Leverkusen did have a good beginning to the season, but they definitely remain under the scanner mainly because of their defensive errors. Not having a single clean sheet in the Bundesliga and conceding 15 goals, some room for sure needs improvement under the defence at coach Xabi Alonso. Offensively, however, they have fared well-scoring 20 goals and many times starting games with high intensity. Indeed, 13 of their 35 goals have come in the first half, hinting at their potential for an early scoring burst. In fact, Leverkusen were likely to be an aggressive starter with Florian Wirtz and Victor Boniface key in spearheading the attack. Stuttgart recently has been in pretty solid form, as they moved on in the DFB Cup and pulled off wins both in the Bundesliga and Champions League. Still, though, their defense, which has been poor thus far this campaign, will be shorthanded as well without their defensive leader Jeff Chabot, and Leverkusen should be able to capitalize on such. They've also been consistent in attack, scoring a first-half goal in five of six road matches this season. Deniz Undav has provided a big boost, scoring five times in his last six Bundesliga matches for the club. Stuttgart have won just one of their last 27 competitive matches against Leverkusen. Leverkusen have avoided defeat in 13 consecutive matches against the Swabians. In the last five games between them, Stuttgart had always taken an early lead but had managed not to score three points. The Rhinelanders scored a goal in the 88th minute or later for the third consecutive time, including the Supercup duel in August. I expect an open game with a lot of goals, more in guests net for sure.
