Haka vs Lahti

Haka are traditionally a very good home team. There will be a limited number of fans in Valkeakoski which is a traditional small football town in Finland. Their fans support their own with enthusiasm even in tougher times. Indeed, Haka played another good match at home versus mighty HJK from Helsinki in their most recent match despite losing 1-2. HJK did control they match but Haka can be proud of the challenge they offered to HJK who have won all but one match so far in Veikkausliiga. They were even able to control the ball at times. Before that match Lahti stunned KUPS in an away match winning 2-1. Kups are the second best team in Veikkausliiga. Kups were the better team for sure but again Haka were not dominated and used their chances effectively. Haka have pretty good situation in terms of players available for this match. Mika Hilander, Aleksandar Vucenovic and Ndukaku Alison are back and only two guys are missing. Teemu Tainio, a former Tottenham player, is a up and coming coach and the atmosphere in Haka is excellent!

Lahti are the stronger team here but still not top4 in Veikkausliiga and not considerably better than Haka. They beat Ilves in their latest match 3-1 but I would say they were a bit lucky in terms of expected goals. Ilves was slightly better in that match overall. Before that they beat poor IFK Mariehamn 3-0. Lahti have been a little lucky overall this season in terms of expected goals and I rate them as 7th best team in the league and they are certainly over-valued by the betting market. Haka are on ninth place in my power ratings. However, the differences in quality between teams, expect for mighty HJK and poor AC Oulu, are pretty small. Home advantage is not particularly big in Veikkausliiga but it is still there and the match is almost a coin toss (50-50%) today. We go for value which is on Haka or draw.
