France, on the other side, are the strong favorites for the trophy. France's defense was the rock on which the World Cup in Russia 2018 win was built and ahead of them the returning Karim Benzema adds to a frontline overloaded with a bunch of talent. With Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann having recovered from recent injuries, the French coach can unleash his fantastic attacking trio on Germany. It's a team to excite fans of the world champions and unlike at the WC in Russia three years ago, I don't expect the manager to have to revise his plans after the opening clash. The French side is well prepared for the challenge and is enough confident of getting a good result. Everything is on the French side before this game. In theory, Germany's greatest hope are that the 14K fans at the Allianz Arena will lift the hosts and scare the Didier Deschamps' squad, but such professionals as France players see this as the ideal opportunity to stamp their authority on the big competition.

For sure, German team reached at least the semi-finals of every single major competition from the 2006 WC to Euro 2016, but the last three years have been poor for their standards. After the World Cup disaster, they finished bottom of their 2018-19 Nations League group, were demolished 6-0 by Spain in November 2020, and allowed a 2-1 home defeat by minnows North Macedonia in World Cup qualifying in March. This all doesn't sound good enough for Germans to be favorites in the match against current world football leaders, France.
