Czech Republic vs Albania

This match is the hosts final preparation for the EURO 2020. They did lose to Italy 0-4 in their most recent match - I must admit it was not a good performance. Before that they lost to Wales 0-1 but the final score in these two matches are a bit unjust and the the Czechs would have deserved a little more. Italy were of course truly better then the Czechs in the match but let's remember they are one of the top teams in the World so the result was hardly a surprise. Against Wales the Czechs had their chances and would have deserved a draw. They had more scoring changes and ball possession than the Welsh despite playing with ten men against eleven for twenty-eight minutes. These two losses against quality-opposition affect the odds odds too much here and we must remember how good the hosts can be at their best. They forced one the best country in the FIFA ranking Belgium to a 1-1 draw in March in a surprisingly balanced match where the Czechs even had more goal attempts! Last autumn the hosts convincingly beat Slovakia 2-0 and Israel 1-0. Israel are not a great team of course but Slovakia are better than Albania for sure and they also qualified to the EURO 2020. If the Chechs can play even close to the level they showed in these matches they will likely beat Albania today.

Albania are not a bad team but are in reconstruction phase and rely heavily on the Djimsiti and Kumbulla in defense. Both guys play in Serie A . They will be missing important players Hysaj, Strakosha and Berisha. These guys also play for good Italian teams. Albania did grab a good 0-0 result in their most recent match versus Wales but the Welsh controlled the match and Albania were poor offensively as they has been for a long time already. Wales as we know are a good team but it seems the Albanians are given to much credit for this result on the betting market. They beat very poor San Marino in only 2-0 in March and before that they lost 0-2 to England and stood no chance at all. Of course England are a better team than today's opponents but the visitors will have to improve a lot especially offensively to get a good result today and would also need their best players on the pitch. Not many goals are expected though as Albanians can defend well and 1-0 is the most likely final score.

To sum up, we will have a motivated and perhaps a bit irritated by the recent losses better team playing at home in front of some enthusiastic fans versus limited Albania who miss too many players today. The hosts have over 60% chance of winning today.
