I was really impressed with the Red Devils in the Community Shield. They came very close to winning the title and left many positive impressions in that game.

The Red Devils looked solid against Manchester City and arguably should have won, as they had double the xG mark. While they attempted only eight shots, they’re likely to enjoy more possession here and will be eager to start strong in front of their home fans.

Manchester United will be without several defenders (Yoro, Maguire, Shaq, Lindelof) as injuries have once again taken a toll on their backline. New signings Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui might debut, or ten Hag might opt for a few players who are not fully fit. Either way, this could create opportunities for Fulham to score, so United needs to be cautious at the back.

Casemiro will be crucial in supporting the defense. He had a brilliant game against Manchester City—indeed, for me, he was United's best player, alongside the goalscorer Garnacho.

Manchester United has made good transfers, so they shouldn't have much trouble replacing those players in defense. Upfront, they have plenty of alternatives, even with main striker Hojlund out. They could use a false nine with Fernandes and Mason Mount rotating up front, or give Garnacho a chance after his strong performance against City. He finished last season in great form and seems to be maintaining that level.

On the other hand, Fulham has lost some key players in the transfer market. The most significant loss is Joao Palhinha, who was their best player and key midfielder. They’ve signed Smith Rowe to replace him, but it won't be an easy task.

I think they still need a reliable striker. Last season, they struggled to score goals, and their top scorer, Rodrigo Muñiz, only managed nine. It seems he will be the main striker again this season, so he'll need to improve his numbers.

Fulham is a solid team with a good coach, and they shouldn’t face relegation problems this season. However, I don’t see them being on the same level as Manchester United, who have shown a lot of potential this season, especially given their performance against the Cityzens.

The quality difference between the two teams is significant. Despite the absences, I expect Manchester United to put in another strong performance and start the campaign with a home win in front of their fans—a campaign that looks promising for them.
