They have scored "only" 25 goals and their offense does lack some individual skill and creativity compared to Bodo/Glimt (40 points and 41 goals scored) -  and to some extent to Molde, 4th place and 32 goals. However, Viking's number of expected goals (xG) is still 28.67. The Viking defence is well-structured – they have allowed only 17 goals in this league! Only Bodo/Glimt and Fredrikstad have allowed less goals – 16 to be precise. The HamKam offense lacks basically everything needed to do well at this level. They have netted only 18 goals, only Stromsgodset have scored less goals. They played pretty passive but well-organized football and have conceded only 18 goals. However, their number of expected goals allowed (xGA) is much bigger – 23.11 to be precise. I would also like to mention that according to a well-known and respected source, a German website Transfermarkt.com, Viking are the bigger team here - by a very clear margin! Indeed, their players are valued at an estimated around 14.50 million euros – this is clearly too low though. Around 19 million would be a more realistic number.. The HamKam, on the other hand, is valued at only 7.7 million euros. This is a very low number by the Eliteserien standards! HamKam are not even safe from relegation to the OBOS-Ligaen.. Indeed, the last two teams are relegated directly.. The team that ends up in 14th place will face a team from the 2nd tier to decide which team gets to play in the Eliteserien next season.. Viking and HamKam last locked horns in May and Viking crushed the visitors 3-0 at SR-Bank Arena in Stavanger. Before this they were unlucky to lose to Haugesund 0-1 away from home. Viking had 71% ball possession but could not break Haugesund's defensive "wall" Haugesund defended much better than usual in this game. They, however, recorded only 18 dangerous attacks – Viking managed 85! They also generated more in xG. In round 14 Viking beat Kristiansund 2-0 at home. They recorded nine shots on target – visitors had just one! In round 13 Viking faced KFUM Oslo on the road, deservedly winning 2-1 as slim favourites. They recorded many more goal attempts and also generated more in xG. In round 12 Viking beat a big but underperforming team, Rosenborg, 4-2 after a fine offensive performance! Rosenborg defended poorly though. 

HamKam have won one of their last three games.  In their most recent match they lost to a newly-promoted team, Fredrikstad, 0-1 at home, recording only two shots on target. HamKam were narrow favourites according to the bookies in this game but were lame. The visitors recorded more goal attempts, shots on goal, corner kicks, attacks and dangerous attacks. Before this HamKam beat Odd, currently in 15th place, 2-1 away from home. However, both teams recorded 1.33 in xG, the visitors had one more goal attempt but Odd recorded more attacks and dangerous attacks. I was not very impressed with HamKam's performance as a whole.. In round 13 HamKam "stole" a point from Tromso at home. They were priced around 2.30 to win by the bookies, which was almost hilariously too low! Indeed, they had no big scoring chances..
