The fans will be able to attend the friendly football match between N Macedonia and Slovenia, the government in Skopje announced. As it is stated, the government decided to make an exception and to allow the stands of the City Stadium in Skopje to be filled with 30% of the capacity at that preparatory match of the Macedonian national team for the European Championship.

While the footballers of Northern Macedonia are counting down the days until their first appearance at the European Championships, the Slovenian team makes plans for an autumn attempt to improve the impression they left at the March 2022 World Cup qualifiers in a friendly match in Skopje tonight.  Slovenia has already met the Macedonians in the unsuccessful qualifications for this year's European Championship, a very poor result against them, they won only one point in two matches, and it was probably fatal for Jan Oblak and his teammates later. After impressing and defeating the Croatian world runners-up in the opening match of the qualifiers, they spoiled the impression in the next two matches in March. First, they lost in Russia, and much more painful was the defeat in Cyprus. Already in September, Slovenia will have new qualifying challenges, first, they will face Slovakia and modest Malta at home, then they will have a hot tour in Croatia. They will try to make sure that they are as well prepared as possible, even now, as they prepare in peace for the June friendly match. After today's visit to Skopje, they will play against modest Gibraltar in Koper on Friday. This is what Matjaz Kek, Slovenian coach said before the game: “We hope to find what we want. We will look for new solutions. We hope to find them. We have a lot of new players, but we expect a good, real match, ”said Kek the day before the match after arriving in Skopje. Indeed, Slovenia does not have the best experiences with Macedonians. They faced them six times and won only once. But, knowing my southern neighbors from Macedonia, they are already in clouds and players will be very careful with injuries. Have that in mind. On the other side, Slovenia and Kek have to prove their worth and stop this negative trend against objectively (yeah I really think that) weaker side.
