Brondby and Nordsjaelland lock horns in this Danish Superliga Championship Group round 30 battle at Brøndby Stadion very early Thursday morning Beijing time. The level of this league is of a little better average by European standards. Brondby, too, have taken 56 points. However, Nordsjaelland are definitely the better team here in terms of pure class. They are also the bigger team in terms of players' estimated total market value – according to Transfermerkt.com – a well-known German website. Last season Nordsjaelland were clearly the better of the two teams, taking 2nd place. Brondby grabbed 11 points less - ending up in 5th place. Their number of expected points (xPTS) is "only" 51.12. The visitors' xPTS is 57.56. The winner of this league qualifies for the UEFA Champions League qualification for next season. The team that finishes in 2nd place earns a ticket for the UEFA Europa League qualification – the third-placed team gets a shot at the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification. Qualifying for the iconic Champions League – or even Europa League qualification -  would be an excellent achievement for either team! Making it to the group stage  - especially in the Champions league would bring a lot of money for the club as well as the players – as bonuses that they have surely negotiated with the club.. However, in my expert opinion Brondby's chances of making it to the top-3 are slim.. Let's take a closer look..

Brondby are definitely the weakest of the top-4 teams. They have netted the ball 55 times and have conceded 32 goals. However, their number of expected goals (xG) is "only" 50.03. Their number of expected goals allowed (xGA) is 37.34. The visitors have more firepower and a more solid defence. Their defenders make far fewer silly mistakes than those of Brondby. The hosts will be missing Alves, Klaiber and Tshiembe. Kvistgaarden and Vanlerberghe are questionable. As for the visitors, Marxen is out – Ingvartsen is questionable. With the expected lineups the visitors deserve to be quite clear favourites here. Odds of around 2.45-2.50 are widely available on the betting market. We will take the Nordsjaelland +0.5 goals handicap option with confidence! Brondby have been in rather poor form this month. Furthermore, they have won only one of their last six matches which has seemingly hurt their confidence.. They have now lost two games in a row. In their last game they were defeated by FC Copenhagen. The visitors from the capital city of Denmark took a 3-1 win after generating 3.54 in xG. Brondby managed only 1.16. Before this they lost to Midtjylland 2-3 on the road. Nordsjaelland have been in fine form in April and May and I have, of course, reacted to this in terms of power rating that reflects the teams' pure class. Indeed, they have won six of their last eight games – losing just once. In the Superliga they have been extremely impressive lately - not lost after the 26th of February! They have looked confident on the pitch and have no obvious weaknesses as a team. I trust their excellent coach a lot – in terms of both tactical skills and as a leader. According to my sources they also have a great team spirit at the moment.. In their last match they crushed Silkeborg 4-1 at home. They were the much better team, recording many more goal attempts, shots on goal (9-2), corner kicks (9-1), attacks and dangerous attacks. Nordsjaelland defended very well as a team – Silkeborg generated only 0.23 in xG. Before this they defeated Aarhus on the road, generating much more in xG than the hosts – 1.87-0.67 to be precise. In round 27 they faced Brondby at home and would have deserved all three points! Indeed, they recorded many more goal attempts (20-11), shots on goal, shots off target (10-3), attacks and dangerous attacks (69-34). It was, in the end, a 1-1 draw but Nordsjaelland generated much more than Brondby in xG.
