In a replay of last year's unforgettable semi-final of the Champions League, Real Madrid, which has already won this prestigious trophy 14 times, meets the current champions Manchester City. Real Madrid plays some of its best games in this competition and I believe that will be the case in this match as well. After going through the group stage without dropping a point, Manchester City easily defeated Danish champions Copenhagen in the round of 16 with two 3:1 wins at home and away. This means that Pep Guardiola's side have sensationally scored three goals in each of their eight Champions League games in the 2023-24 season. Since last year's 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu, Manchester City have not dropped a Champions League win. They are enjoying the second-longest winning streak in Champions League history at 10 games, and their overall unbeaten run in the competition is an impressive 21 games since losing 3-1 away to, of course, Real Madrid in 2022. After beating Crystal Palace 4-2 in Saturday's Premier League game thanks to a brilliant display from Kevin De Bruyne, Guardiola's side stay close to rivals Arsenal and Liverpool and come to the Bernabeu having avoided defeat in their last 25 games in all competitions, winning 11 of the last 12 games away from the Etihad. However, playing against Real in their favorite competition is something completely different. In many derbies during the season, Haaland was more than invisible, which is perhaps City's biggest problem this season. I personally expect that Guardiola will opt for a slightly more cautious approach to the game in this match, as was the case in the match against Arsenal, and that he will play much more offensive football in front of their fans. There is very little difference in quality between these two teams, if there is any at all, but I honestly believe that the best bet for this match is for Real Madrid to win at least one point against City.
