I dont see Real Madrid as a favorite here.

They are playing really bad, in spite of they managed to win the important game in the midweek against Monchengladbach, a must win to qualify to UCL ⅛ finals.

Their defence is conceding much more as usual, 12 goals in 11 rounds are the best example.

The main problem of Madrid is in the attack. Only Benzema is their danger, as Vinicius and Rodrygo are in really bad form and showed that their level isn’t enough for Real Madrid. Is a team who needs a lot of chances to score goals, and when rivals are defending well, they aren’t able to break the defence and find the net.

We must remember that Real Madrid in La Liga only managed to win 6 games of 11 played, some of them undeservedly like against Valladolid (1:0) or Betis (2:3).

On the other side, Atlético Madrid is the main reason for this pick. They are in my opinion the best spanish team right now. Are playing amazing, full of confidence and motivation. Managed to win the important midweek game in UCL against Leipzig, a must win to qualify to ⅛ finals as well (like R. Madrid).

Their defence is amazing, unbeaten and only 2 goals conceded in 10 league games. Not only because Oblak made good saves, also because the defensive system is almost perfect. Is really hard to create a chance against this solid side.

Also in attack Atletico is in a really good moment, their weak point in the last years. This season they have players in great form like Joao Felix, Correa or Luis Suarez. In fact, they have the best attack of La Liga with 21 goals scored in 11 fixtures.

Atletico has changed their style this season, they are trying to dominate the games and have more possession. And this will be the main battle for this match - both teams will try to dominate the game.

I can’t see Real Madrid, who has probably the weakest attack in recent years, able to break the solid defence of Atlético. A draw with few goals is very possible here. Atletico is my opinion in better form, while both teams have similar squads. I only see Madrid better in the midfield, where players have more quality, but in the attack and defence Atletico is above I think.

The double chance seems the right bet for me here.
