I see Villarreal totally able to avoid defeat here.

Their run before Mallorca was 5 games winless without scoring a single. The lack of goal is a real concern for Real Sociedad this season, they don't have any reliable scorer, they are tired and playing slow football, and are not generating too many chances. They need more pace and play faster football, but the players are exhausted due to the injuries and lack of rotations, and the high amount of important games (UCL, Spanish Cup, La Liga…).

Next Tuesday they have a very important game: Spanish Cup ½ finals second leg against Mallorca. And they need to win because the previous game finished 0:0.

For this fixture their captain Oyarzabal is out (injured), as well as other rotation players. He is the topscorer of the team with 8 goals.

On the other hand, Villareal’s season has been terrible so far, sitting 13th in La Liga with 47 goals conceded. However, they have a lot of quality and a great squad to be fighting for the European positions, especially upfront where they have one of the best attacks in La Liga. But I see Villarreal able to score some goal here given their quality upfront, and in this situation I can’t see Real Sociedad at this moment able to score 2 goals. Oyarzabal’s absence and their fatigue makes them generate very few chances recently and struggle to score goals.

I see this match finishing in a draw, whilst Villarreal is also totally able to win here if they make a good game in defense. Upfront they’ll surely have chances and should be able to score them given their quality.
