Benfica is clearly the favorite here.

Toulouse has been very lucky so far in this competition. In the round 5 of the group stage where they drew 0:0 Royale Union, they were totally outplayed and deserved to lose by at least a couple of goals, conceding 1.52 expected goals and generating only 0.39. They also were destroyed by Liverpool (5:1) whilst at home were lucky again beating them 3:2 in a game where again, deserved to lose and were outplayed, whilst also Liverpool had a goal disallowed by VAR.

Their season so far has been so poor, sitting 13th in the Ligue 1 and just one point above relegation. However, this is their main target, like last season where they finished 13th but qualified to the UEL , winning the Cup against Nantes.

This season their squad has a similar level, which is just a team whose target is to avoid relegation. They don't have the level needed to be competitive in Europe.

On the other hand, Benfica is a very strong team. They have a lot of quality and experience, are leading the Portuguese league and were unlucky in the Champions League as they had two very strong teams (Inter Milan and Real Sociedad). However, managed to finish 3rd above Salzburg and qualify to Europa League, where they are among the title contenders.

For this fixture Toulouse will be forced to attack, because Benfica won the first leg 2:1. However, the result was very unfair: Benfica dominated the whole game, had a lot of chances, controlled all the situations during the 90 minutes, and generated 3.26 expected goals. Toulouse just played a defensive game and made only 2 shots on target, scoring one goal generating only 0,40 expected goals. The fairest result in that game should have been 2:0 or 3:0 at least.

In this fixture Benfica will have more facilities, as will have more spaces and will find more chances. Benfica has much more quality and experience, and should be able to score one or two goals to avoid problems and control the match in my opinion.
