Sporting Gijon should be the favorite here.

Their balance so far is 8/9/7, and are lacking motivation. They are still trying to find themselves where they want to go, and how they want to play. They don’t have any identity, although at home they have been performing well, unbeaten since 2 months ago.

However, the lack of ambition in this club is notorious in their results: they are making a lot of draws during the last seasons, and this year is the same. They have drawn 9 games so far, 5 of the last 6.

On the other hand, Sporting Gijon is performing very well this season. They have found the balance with this coach in his second season and are a serious promotion contender. They are 7th in the table but winning today, would have the same points as 2nd and third qualified. The difference between the 2nd and 7th position is just three points.

Sporting Gijon has been a very difficult team to beat so far. They suffered only 5 defeats, the same as leaders Leganes. Majority of them have been very unlucky, like last weekend against Racing Ferrol (3rd on table) where they lost the match at 96’ after a goalkeeper mistake.

They have been very solid in defense as well, conceding only 19 goals so far which means that they have the second best defense of the league after leaders Leganes.

Sporting Gijón has more quality and looks like a much better team for me here. They will be also motivated after last weekend’s defeat, whilst for Zaragoza another draw won’t be a bad deal.
