Real Madrid has in this month the most important games of the season for them, and I see them in the best form to face it.

This weekend have a very important game against Atletico, then Girona (main rivals in the title race) and then Champions League ⅛ finals.

Real Madrid is in very good form this season, and they are hungry for La Liga title. It should be easy because Barcelona is in very poor form and Atletico is already 10 points below, but Girona has appeared as a surprising title contender and after 22 rounds, they won’t stop.

In La Liga Real Madrid has lost only one game so far, which was against Atletico in September. In the recent games, coach Ancelotti is making some rotations in order to avoid fatigue and keep players fresh. And some B alternatives like Joselu are responding very well, scoring goals and making good performances.

All the team is in good form at the moment. They are generating a lot in attack, being very competitive and scoring goals from different situations, whilst in defense when they are concentrated they are a very solid team. I have been especially surprised with the ability to push and make a comeback when it's needed, as they did against Las Palmas and Almeria. They are definitely a very difficult team to beat at the moment.

On the other hand, I don’t see Atletico in good form. In many games they are playing very slow football, struggling a lot to play fastly and with slow-paced games. They are also playing with less intensity, which is the worst that a team like Atletico can do.

The result of this is that they are not creating too many chances and also are being less effective upfront: Griezmann has not scored in the last 5 games and Morata is injured. However, Memphis is doing very well scoring in the last two games.

Morata is doubtful, there’s a 50% possibility for him to play.

They also have a very important game next midweek (Wednesday) against Athletic Bilbao, in the Spanish Cup ½ finals.

Both teams have played a lot of times lately. In the Spanish Supercup, Madrid totally dominated the game and deserved to win easily, but somehow Atletico scored three goals (generating only 0.60 expected goals) and Madrid had to use the extra-time to score two more and make the definitive 5:3 to win the title later against Barcelona.

But then they played in the Cup ⅛ finals where Atletico de Madrid was the team who dominated the game and deserved to win, but again had to play extra-time and score two goals to make the definitive 4:2.

However, I’m expecting some kind of revenge by Real Madrid. Atletico has been the only team who beat them in La Liga so far and also eliminated them from the Cup, so surely will push and make a good performance at home.

There’s a high rivality in this match so both will be at 100%. However, I see Madrid in better form and I believe they’ll dominate the match. I’m expecting an open game where both teams will attack and probably score goals. In this situation, Madrid has the advantage as they have more quality to convert the chances.

I see both teams scoring here and something like 3-4 goals, but at the end Madrid should be the winner due to the home advantage, higher quality and better form at the moment.
