For me, Luxembourg is the favorite here.

Luxembourg needs two victories in these last two rounds to qualify. They are third in the group, 5 points below Slovakia and need 6 points along with two defeats from Slovakia (against Iceland and Bosnia).

It’s almost impossible, but I think they’ll be competitive and deliver good performances. They have been one of the big surprises in these qualifiers. Despite having a weak squad, they have been very close to qualifying, playing exceptionally well with solid performances.

Although they were totally outplayed by Portugal (9:0 and 0:6), they managed to beat Iceland at home (3:1) and secured two draws against Slovakia and Iceland. They also beat Bosnia 0:2 in the previous meeting between both teams.

Another way for them to qualify is through the UEFA Nations League, where they have real chances, so they have a Plan B.

Coach Holtz has most of his players ready, only Yvandro Borges Sanches and Eldin Dzogovic are absent.

Bosnia-Herzegovina has no chance for the second place. What else could you expect from the national team that had three coaches in 2023? Bosnia started the campaign under Faruk Hadzibegic, but three defeats in the first four rounds were enough to trigger the first change. Meho Kodro was appointed in August, but he was sacked after just two qualifying matches. In the meantime, the former Serbian striker Savo Milosevic was established as the new coach.

They have won 3 games and lost 5 in these qualifiers: two of them were against Liechtenstein, one of the worst teams in Europe, and another one at home against Iceland with Hadzibegic in charge.

Furthermore, they’ll miss three key players for this match: Edin Dzeko, Miralem Pjanic, and Sead Kolasinac. Also, defenders Anel Ahmedhodzic and Adrian Leon Barisic are out injured, while striker Kenan Kodro announced his international retirement when his father Meho Kodro was sacked in October.

So, we have a team in good form, with plenty of confidence and home support, against a Bosnia side that is unmotivated, without their best players, and playing only for pride.

In the previous game where Bosnia had a better squad, more motivation, and was playing at home, they weren’t able to avoid defeat. Therefore, I can’t see them improving their performance in this match; quite the opposite, I expect them to perform even worse.
