In my opinion Real Madrid is clear favorite of this game and should be able to make 3 points today.

Real Madrid coming for this game with huge mental advantage as they won last 4 matches in a row against Sevilla, all of them with coach Carlo Ancelotti on the bench.

Real Madrid so far plays on top class level – 8 wins in 9 matches with great 20:6 goals balance. They lost in derby game against Atletico, but that was close game as both teams produced just above 1.00 expected goals scored. Real bounced back in best possible style – 3 wins in La Liga, all of them with at least 2 goals difference and all of them to nil (they also added win against strong Napoli on away in Champions League). Everything clicking together, Real is super dangerous in attack and solid at the back. In addition to that, key central defender Alaba is available again today. It’s great info for the team.

Sevilla had very disappointing previous season in La Liga when they finished in bottom half of the table. Positive thing – they won Europa League again, but looks like poor position in the table was deserved and that wasn’t coincidence. Sevilla have too many old, overpaid players in squad, there is lack of hungry players like youngsters in Real Madrid. Sevilla failed to win in 5 of last 6 matches in all competitions. Atmosphere was horrible and this is reason why Sevilla have new coach – Diego Alonso, but is hard to expect big improvement in first match. He never trained any club in Europe, in addition to that he came without staff. On top of that – Sevilla have problems at both ends of the pitch. They are without first goalkeeper Dmitrovic today and key winger Lamela.

I don’t see too big chances for Sevilla today, really.
