Hosts are favorites here for me.

Sonderjyske is from the second division. Last season they finished 4th and in the promotion group playoffs finished third, just two points below promotion (2nd position).

This season they are again a promotion contenders, as they have the best squad in the league after the newly relegated side - Aalborg, who received a lot of money from their relegation.

Are a very difficult team to beat and started the season very well and full of confidence: they have won 6 of their last 7 fixtures, just with a draw last weekend against Hillerod.

They are a classic team from the first division, but were relegated in the 21/22 season and are trying to be back. In this Cup they have good experience, as they won it in 19/20 season, played the final in the 20/21, reached semifinals in 21/22 and ¼ finals in 22/23.

On the other hand, Vejle is one of the worst teams in the first division. They have one of the worst squads in the league and are a clear relegation contender. Were promoted last season from the first division, after finishing first in the regular season and also in the promotion group stage afterwards.

Their squad is almost the same as last season. They have added just some free players and the best one is Yeni N’Gbakoto from Western Sydney (Australia).

Vejle has started their campaign in the Superleague really bad, losing their first 7 games and achieving last weekend their first victory 1:2 against Odense. But with these results and performances, surely the team will be focused in their league and not in this Cup, which could be a problem for them.

So both teams have a pretty similar squad as last season when both were playing in the second division. In that period, Sonderjyske drew 1:1 at home and beat Vejle 1:2 away. Squad values are almost the same at the moment: 6MM Euros for Sonderjyske, 8MM Euros for Vejle.

Sonderjyske is my favorite here. Both teams have similar level, but the hosts have home advantage (fans support) and are in much better form, so have more motivation/confidence.
