Clear signs of slowing down at Sassuolo these days. For anyone who's wathed them through this season, it is easy to spot how much slower the team is looking these days.

Unsurprisingly, they've managed to take a odd win from last 5 rounds - at home against Benevento (1-0). 2 draws and 2 defeats on other occasions and a slow but confident slide down the table to the bottom of top 6.

There are no squad issues for De Zerbi, though, which could've justified the nosedive in results. I leave it to the team's slump in fitness. They were outplayed on a number of occasions. The most telling game for me was the 0:0 draw away to AS Roma, who played for nearly an hour with 10 men. Yet, Roma was the better and fresher team closer to 3 points.

Sassuolo's football heavily relies on domination through possession and physical presence on the pitch. Considering they are strolling towards the end of the year on "flat tires", it makes every reason to fish for picks against them.

Sampdoria is, on the contrary, at team that has regained momentum over the last 10 days, taking back to back wins and moving to 10th in the table. 2-1 victory away to difficult Verona was particularly a strong display and it was then followed up by 3-1 win over Crotone, who is actually making waves now at the bottom of the table, having moved to 18th with a recent win.

No significant squad problems for hosts either. A number of players are out, but none of them represent decent value to the team and are replaceable.

Considering current momentum and Sampdoria's decent state, I believe, they have more than enough quality to their squad to hold Sassuolo to at least a draw.
